Victorian Deep Brown Mirror

Very typical and a classic Victorian mirror. This mirror has a lot of the very feminine aspects you'd expect to see from this time period like a crown and hour glass shape. Very feminine and sweet. 

The Victorian Era really celebrated and exacerbated the femininity of women. Women were expected to be dainty and dependent and almost everything from mirrors to clothing to cigarette smoking found a way to be more "feminine." While we would look back now and disapprove the way women were treated at this time, it truly was a period of almost infatuation with women and femininity.

This is a true antique and is from the Victorian period 1850-1900. 

Virtually no wear, everything is visible from the photos.
