Antique Laotian Tapestry
We were traveling through Laos and came to a store dripping in colorful textiles in Vientiane - Laos' capital. We've never seen so many bold prints and history in one building. It was maybe a 10' by 10' room and they must have packed in 2,000 pieces. We'll never forget what it felt like to walk into that store and next time we encounter something similar, we owe you a picture.
This textile is a true antique and close to 200 years old. We paid up for this piece and keep it as a runner on top of our steamer trunk. But we know someone else will love her too.
This piece is still bright for its age. It was dyed using natural dyes and has been kept well.
You could do a lot with this textile including framing it, hanging it on a wall, using it as a runner, reupholstering an antique piece, using it for pillow cases, and more. It's in great shape so we'd recommend preserving this piece.
